The first full gantry cell has been commissioned on the Munich floor. The build team signed off mechanical alignment, drive tuning and a first unattended run — the moment a prototype becomes a machine you leave running.
Commissioning is unglamorous work: tramming the rails, walking the drives through their ranges, checking the safeties trip on the right edge. It is also the work that decides whether the cell holds its tolerances eight weeks in, not just on the first afternoon.
With the cell live, the programme moves back to the edge — controller tuning against real cycle times rather than simulation, and the first structured data flowing from the floor to the project record.
